Over the last couple of years, Mitchell 1 has worked hard to bring information to the technicians’ hands, says Ben Johnson, the company’s director of product management.

As Mitchell 1 introduced ProDemand™ and SureTrack™ in 2011 and 2012, respectively, it now offers ProDemand with 1Search™. The product, discussed at AAPEX 2013, makes it easier for today’s technicians to search information by integrating data from SureTrack into ProDemand, the company’s repair information software.

When a user is in ProDemand, he or she now will see an additional tab at the top labeled SureTrack. Mitchell 1 reports the integration provides comprehensive, categorized repair information in a user-friendly interface, making it easier than ever for users to find the complete information they need to repair vehicles accurately and efficiently. Mitchell 1 1Search takes the complete OE database and marries it with the growing industry expert database in SureTrack.

In addition, Johnson says technicians from around the country are taking their time after hours to enter in their own experiences from the day, to bring more real world solutions to Mitchell 1’s platforms.

The new system offers full index navigation for component lookups in alphabetical order. This helps technicians search by letter instead of typing in the component they’re having problems with.

The 1Search feature in ProDemand incorporates a single search field for entering diagnostic trouble codes, components or symptoms, which then returns information from Mitchell 1’s vast library of OEM content as well as detailed parts replacement records, tips and Real Fixes from SureTrack’s experience-based information database, according to Mitchell 1. The information is organized into the familiar tabs in the ProDemand dashboard, enabling the user to easily find the most relevant information to solve their specific repair problem.
