Clore Automotive Inc. has added Pro-Logix PL5100, a heavy-duty 12/24 volt battery charger, to its Solar brand Article line.

The new charger features multiple charge rates from 15A to 100A to quickly and easily deliver a precise charging routine to vehicles of all shapes and sizes, from passenger vehicles to over-the-road trucks with an 8-battery configuration.

Pro-Logix PL5100 also features 425 amp engine starting assistance to provide starting assistance to vehicles with a low battery(ies). Finally, it is approved for all-weather use to deliver outstanding charging performance in all service environments, according to the company.

Clore says service speed and bay turnover is the calling of the Pro-Logix PL5100. Its 100A maximum charging rate is over 40% faster than competing 70A chargers, making quick work of even the 4- and 8-battery packs found in Class 8 trucks and heavy-duty implements.

In addition, the PL5100 uses advanced microprocessor-controlled logic to precisely deliver a fully automatic charging routine designed to optimally charge and maintain each battery or battery pack serviced. The PL5100 features the ability to properly charge a wide variety of lead acid battery types, including conventional, absorbent glass mat, spiral wound, start-stop, deep cycle and marine batteries. No matter the lead acid battery type installed in a vehicle, the PL5100 can deliver a proper, beneficial charge, according to Clore.

The Pro-Logix PL5100 adapts its approach based on the needs of each battery or battery pack it services. Such adaptations can include activating a soft start mode on deeply discharged batteries, a battery repair mode on older/distressed batteries and temperature compensation when charging in extreme temperatures.

The company says the charger also incorporates numerous features to make charging safer for the operator and the vehicle/battery being charged, including over-voltage protection, reverse polarity protection, smart clamp technology and battery fault detection. With all-weather certification, it is versatile enough for use in all service environments.

Clore Automotive designs, develops, and manufactures automotive service equipment for professionals and consumers, including jump starters, battery chargers, battery testers and power inverters.
