With over 30 years of experience in the collision repair industry serving as a leader in multiple capacities, Dave Luehr shared with attendees of his course at NACE Automechanika Atlanta the right mindset to have in order to be successful in business and life.

ATLANTA — “Right now is the best time to be in the collision repair industry,” Dave Luehr, founder of Elite Body Shop Solutions, firmly and enthusiastically stated during his course this morning, “The Winning Mindset of America’s Greatest Body Shops,” at NACE Automechanika, the largest U.S. trade show dedicated to high-end technical and management-related training for automotive collision and service repair shops, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

He explained to attendees, however, that only the shop owners with the right mindset will find success amidst the rapid change this industry is experiencing. Luehr shared, Perfecting all of the technical aspects of the business is only a part of the body shop success equation. The right winning mindset can overcome more challenges and take you, your business, and your team further, into limitless potential.”

With over 30 years of experience in the collision repair industry serving as a leader in multiple capacities, including leadership positions with several large MSOs, Luehr shared with attendees the right mindset to have in order to be successful in business and life. He stressed how any shop leader willing to challenge their old beliefs can adopt and apply better thinking and habits to help them achieve higher levels of performance excellence.

Throughout the engaging course Luehr explained the four keys to having a winning mindset:

  1. Confidence — Develop a belief in your ability to be successful.
  2. Challenge limiting beliefs — Bring out into the open unconscious, mental programming so you can challenge it and create the life and business you want.
  3. Personal responsibility — Embrace accountability or remain stuck in the victim zone.
  4. Finding the positive within the negative — Discover how to view problems for ultimate success.

Attendees who might have entered the class questioning their ability to survive in today’s challenging and ever-changing collision repair industry left the classroom feeling motivated and inspired to implement Luehr’s teachings in their shops and lives.
