Feb. 4, 2025
From tech tips for the most popular vehicles to technical demonstrations, these were the most viewed articles for January 2025.

January 2025 came and went faster than we expected, but it certainly made a splash while it was here. Let's take a look at what drew the most views on VehicleServicePros.com during the first month of the year.

5. Tech Tip: Strange pinging noise from Chevy Silverado

The Silverado frequently lands on the Most Sold Models of the Year lists, so readers' interest in this quick tip for the vehicle is warranted. In this case, it was a 2016 Silverado making a racket without throwing up any codes. As the ALLDATA Tech-Assist Team explains here, the solution was ultimately simple.

4. PTEN Tool Review Part 2: TEXA AXONE NEMO PLUS – Diagnostic Features with FREE Motor TruSpeed and More!

The second episode of a three-part series, this video covers some of the powerful diagnostic features of TEXA's AXONE NEMO PLUS. Scott Browns runs through a vehicle health check, the Live Data Dashboard, MOTOR's TruSpeed service information system, and more in this demonstration.

3. The Trainer #156: The Customer Interrogation Process

Brandon Steckler's skills as a diagnostician aren't just limited to what's under the hood. Although most shops would dread dealing with a customer who complains about an inconsistent problem with their vehicle, Steckler argues that intermittent issues don't exist in the first place. As he explains in this episode of The Trainer, the proper diagnostic process includes a conversation with the customer to find the right solution for the root cause.

2. Tech Tip: Toyota Tacoma starts, runs, stalls

Much like the Silverado tip before it, this ALLDATA tech tip applies to one of the most popular consumer vehicles on the road today, so it's no surprise to see it make this list. The issue here was a Tacoma with a stalling problem and a bouncing fuel pressure reading. One ohmmeter later, the Tacoma was running perfectly.

1. Streamlight releases new USB flashlight

One of the main parts of VehicleServicePros.com is our Product Guide, so we're always excited to find out about the newest tools and products coming to the market. That being said, it looks like our readers were even more excited by this new EDC light from Streamlight than we were! We don't know if it's the specs or the style that drew so many eyes to it, but whatever it was, we can't argue with the results.
