For the past three events, NACE Automechanika has not only brought world class exhibitors to their attendees; they have also brought the opportunity for world class training as well.

And this event was no exception. The list of presenters was a “Who’s Who” of the best aftermarket trainers in the industry, including both independents like John Thornton and Bernie Thompson and corporate gurus like Carquest Technical Institute’s Randy Briggs and NAPA’s Tom Rayk. Many of the trainers are also regular contributors to Motor Age, giving attendees the opportunity to meet in person the authors of the articles they’ve read in print. Among the contributors presenting in Atlanta were G. Truglia, Brandon Steckler, Scott Shotton, Eric Ziegler and Jaime Lazarus.

ACDC’s Craig Van Batenburg led a three-part class on electrical fundamentals, using his respected “Army Men” analogy. CTI’s Peter Orlando explains the nuances of diagnosing modern Start-Stop systems to NACE Automechanika attendees.

Topics included in the training event were as varied as the presenters themselves, covering electrical fundamentals, diesel technologies, drivability diagnostics and advanced diagnostic techniques. No matter the skill level attending technicians came in with, they were sure to leave a few rungs higher by the time sessions were over.

TST president G. Truglia is well-known to Motor Age readers, and led three sessions at NACE Automechanika. NAPA’s Tom Rayk is a dynamic presenter that keeps his audience on their toes!
