Alternatives suggested to high costs of auto parts distribution

Getting the right auto parts to the right place at the right time is an expensive exercise, but aftermarket distributors do have alternatives.

Bruce Adams, managing editor for Aftermarket Business World, wrote a blog, “Aftermarket distributors face costly challenges, seek alternatives.”

Aftermarket distributors face huge costs in building their supply chain. They need to make large

infrastructure investments in delivery vehicles, vehicle maintenance, drivers for the vehicles and software to communicate with the vehicles. In addition, they have to buy or rent real estate for their distribution centers. Plus, they need to develop an expertise in frequently changing shipping regulations.
