Speed-specific 15-inch Goodyear Front Runner tires are
gracing the 2010 Suzuki Kizashi Bonneville Special on
display at the Nov. 2-5 Specialty Equipment Market
Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas.
The vehicle entered the record books at this year’s Bonneville Speed Week in August when driver Sam Mitani posted a 203.720 mph run, exceeding the previous record of 202.301 mph.
Beginning with interior safety and instrument modifications, the Kizashi Bonneville Special underwent several refinements to make it salt-ready.
Once the initial work was completed, the build team from Advanced Product Engineering – Richard Holdener, Tom Habrzyk and Scott Bailey – installed an approved roll cage, an aluminum bulkhead in the rear, a racing seat, seat harnesses and window netting. The engine was disassembled to confirm the stock measurements while the cylinder head was flowed and ported. It has a new intake manifold, a tuned “long tube” header and forged rods and pistons for high rpm endurance, among with numerous other enhancements to the vehicle.Goodyear reports that its Front Runner tires offer a lightweight design for lower rolling resistance, which includes tubeless construction for better performance, less weight and less maintenance, a longer lifespan and improved cost effectiveness.
