Featuring a compact design to fit in tight wheel wells, the Bosch On-Car Brake Lathe, No. OCL8850, quickly turns and resurfaces rotors without disassembling or removing components of a vehicle’s braking system and with no run-out compensation needed. This tool eliminates the need for run-out compensation, providing 100 percent parallel place between brake pads and rotors. The Bosch OCL 8850 includes standard adapters to fit most vehicles, eliminating the need for additional investment in vehicle-specific adapters; a two-speed lathe setting for initial and smoothing grinds; and bi-directional lathe feed, eliminating the need to “flip” the lathe. Compared to hub-mounted on car lathes, Bosch’s caliper-mounted unit eliminates run-out, rotor thickness variation and roughness issues often experienced with other lathes, according to the company.
