Kent Automotive adds inventory management, profitability reporting to Its PROS Profit Enhancement software

Body shops and collision repair centers across the U.S. and Canada use PROS Profit Enhancement software to track and charge out all materials used in repair orders, eliminating waste and recovering the cost of all consumable supplies.

Kent Automotive, a division of Lawson Products, Inc. (NASDAQ:LAWS) and a leading distributor of high-performance products and inventory management solutions to collision and mechanical repair shops and automotive OEMs, announced the latest release of its PROS Profit Enhancement and Inventory Manager Tool®.

Body shops and collision repair centers across the U.S. and Canada use PROS Profit Enhancement software to track and charge out all materials used in repair orders, eliminating waste and recovering the cost of all consumable supplies.

Fasteners, seam sealers and other shop supplies required for repairs are often considered overhead. The PROS tool captures these items accurately – which can add up to thousands of dollars in untapped profits for collision and service shops.

The latest PROS release adds robust profitability reporting capabilities to the cost recovery platform. The system’s Inventory Manager feature tracks on-hand inventory levels and usage, flags item minimums, and provides real-time valuation.

The cloud-based PROS Profit Enhancement and Inventory Manager Tool and mobile app are available at no charge to Kent Automotive customers.

Boosting business returns

“PROS gives us the ability to manage an area of our business that has typically been an underdog,” said Dan Stander of Fix Auto in Littleton, Colo. “Clips, hardware, and miscellaneous shop supplies have always been hard to track and bill to jobs. Alpine CARSTAR Auto Body and Jordan Road CARSTAR Collision in Colorado have used PROS for several years. Owner Gary Boesel finds the system very user friendly for staff and technicians.

“The program’s versatility allows us to properly charge for our needed supplies, while accurately generating invoices directly to our estimators,” said Boesel. “With such a large number of products offered by Kent, the PROS system helps us maintain profitability with those products and eliminates pricing questions.”
