Ray Gunder and his wife Deanie Gunder have opened their personal and vacation rental homes near Franklin, N.C., to host the first Collision Industry Summit of its kind.

The initial idea was to have a meeting to bring together a few interested industry professionals from around the country for a relaxing yet task -illed weekend to casually discuss the most crucial issues facing today’s collision repair industry. Due to overwhelming interest, it has grown to 30 or so attendees including shop owners, industry experts and renowned legal counsel including Erica Eversman and Brent Geohagan esquires. The goal will be to discuss, isolate and possibly develop strategies and plans of action to help bring needed change to benefit the industry members and the consumers it serves.

Lakeland, Fla.‘s Gunder of Gunder’s Auto Center states, “There’s an overwhelming interest and available accommodations went quickly among those who responded to the initial e-mail inquiry sent out to determine the level of interest in such an event. I wish we could accommodate more. We had to arrange additional facilities to meet the overwhelming requests. This will be a great opportunity for respected professionals to meet in a relaxing and casual environment. My wife Deanie has and continues to work tirelessly to make the many arrangements required for such an event. Without her help it simply couldn’t happen. ”We’re anxious to see what may be accomplished and we’ll be sharing the results with the industry after the summit.”

The gathering is being held this summer in the beautiful and serene North Carolina’s Smoky Mountains. All available accommodations have been reserved and filled to capacity.
