The mayor's office in the city of Houston released new changes to the proposed ordinance to regulate the automotive repair and collision industry. The Houston City Council did not reach a final conclusion on the Feb. 14 ordinance proposal but opted to refer the ordinance back to the administration. There has been no date set for the ordinance to be reconsidered.

Automotive Service Association (ASA) members in Houston opposed the proposed ordinance and will continue to work to ensure that any ordinance approved by the city council will treat consumers and repairers fairly.
