ASA names Government Affairs Committee

BEDFORD, Texas - The Automotive Service Association (ASA) has announced its 2009 Government Affairs Committee (GAC).

BEDFORD, Texas - The Automotive Service Association (ASA) has announced its 2009 Government Affairs Committee (GAC). Members include Ron Nagy, AAM, board representative and committee chairman, Nagy’s Collision Center, Wooster, Ohio; Eddie Ehlert, affiliate representative, Mazdonly Ltd., Chamblee, Ga.; Charles Elder, AAM, member at large, Ray Gordon Brake Service, Tallahassee, Fla.; Bob Wills, AAM, mechanical division representative, Wills Auto Service, Battle Creek, Mich.; and Dan Stander, collision division representative, Jerry Stander’s Collision Works, Littleton, Colo. Members assumed their positions at the close of ASA’s recent Annual Convention in Orlando, Fla.

ASA’s board of directors established the Government Affairs Committee to assist with developing state and national legislative objectives on an annual basis. ASA’s 2010 convention will be held next spring in Arizona; specific dates and location have not been determined. The association’s annual trade shows – the International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE) and the Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS) – will be held during the second Automotive Service and Repair Week (ASRW), Nov. 4-7, 2009. All ASRW events will be located at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

In addition, ASA will host a Capitol Hill Fly-In for ASA members July 28-29 in Washington, D.C., allowing members to meet with policymakers to discuss industry issues.
