SAE International launched a new website designed to be more user-friendly and offer better navigation through its industry-specific channels. SAE International provides relevant technical content, develops consensus standards, offers professional development courses and hosts global conferences and symposia for the mobility engineering industry.

The site – www.sae.org – offers a new interface that provides enhanced searching capabilities with content from SAE International's award-winning engineering magazines, along with full integration with SAE International's social media platforms.

"SAE International's new website is designed, first and foremost, with our members and customers in mind," Bill Cariello, Manager, Web Strategy and Operations, SAE International, says. "The site brings together all that SAE International has to offer, yet still enables users to customize their navigation to best fit their professional needs."

Visitors to the site can choose from one of three industry tabs – aerospace, automotive or commercial vehicle. Each industry-specific page showcases the latest news, articles, papers, standards and events for that particular segment. In addition, visitors can identify themselves as "professionals" or "students," and then quickly select the activities in which they want to engage, including submitting a paper, joining a discussion, looking for a job or joining SAE International.

Technical interest drop-down menus speed visitors to the resources they need, and existing SAE International members and customers will find a more customized MySAE function that helps to deliver content based on the users' preferences.

Later this year, SAE International will introduce "EngineerXchange," a premium online community exclusively for SAE members to share ideas, information, employment opportunities and best practices.
