Origin

The Connected Adapter Ball Joint Starter Kit was developed to solve the problem of needing a larger C-frame to work on bigger vehicles and bigger suspension components. The current C-frame setup can be unwieldy to set, says the company, so having cups and adapters that lock-in, makes set up, removal, and installation faster and easier.

Manufacturing/engineering specifications

The CA7149 kit is made in the U.S.A. from high-strength tool steel globally sourced components. The drop-forged C-frame is made from a single piece of steel, which the company says makes it stronger and more durable than a cast frame. Additionally, the lighter weight of these tools makes for less fatigue and easier setup and positioning.

Storage and display

The kits are individually shipped in a box and come in a blow molded case with custom insets for the C-frame, forcing screw, and cups/adapters. The company recommends having the case open with the adapter and cup connected to the C-frame for technicians to pick up and feel the secure click of the connected adapters.

Demonstration

Mobile tool dealers can demonstrate how the adapters click into place and are held securely on the C-frame, as well as use the ball joint as a drop to show how the ball joint is held inside the adapter and held to the C-frame for one-handed setup.
