Holding raffles on the truck

May 4, 2015
One independent distributor holds raffles once quarterly to increase payments.

Independent distributor Bob Fyler holds a raffle to up payments, about four times per year. He gives away a raffle ticket for a certain amount spent. He usually gives away a firearm.

“On an expensive gun, it’s a $250 purchase, or a $25 ticket. On a low-priced gun I’ll do a $10 ticket or spend $100 in purchases.”

Fyler will only give away between 100 and 125 tickets per raffle, to ensure the giveaway only lasts a couple weeks. He finds the raffle will spur excitement on the truck, and helps to increase sales before a vacation or holiday.

“The negative I’ve found, from my competitors, is that they’ll run the raffle then two months later they’re still running the raffle. It’s not a fair raffle.”
