C.H. Hanson Automatic Locking Pliers product information

C.H. Hanson introduces its Automatic line of locking pliers, groove pliers and clamps. Developed from the Lockjaw line of tools the company acquired in 2009, these tools automatically lock on any size without having to adjust the tool via a knob. The "Set & Forget" feature allows users to set the desired clamp pressure from slight to extreme, and the jaws of the tool automatically adjust to any size with equal grip pressure.

Features and benefits

Automatic locking pliers are seven times faster than traditional locking pliers because they automatically lock on any size without having to adjust the tool via a knob. Using the release lever, the tools can move quickly from one object and lock onto the next providing the speed necessary to work at the highest efficiency. That means greater productivity and the ability to get jobs done faster. In addition, Automatics use the Set & Forget feature so a user can set the desired clamp pressure from slight to extreme and the jaws of the tool automatically adjust to any size with equal grip pressure.

Origin

This product was originally designed for NASA astronauts to use in space because they could not operate traditional locking tools with their thick gloves. The tool was designed and built, but rejected. The engineer who created the tool quit NASA to launch the tool himself.  To create the Automatic line, C.H. Hanson acquired the original manufacturer for the tool in 2009.

After conducting comprehensive end-user testing, C.H. Hanson masterfully fine-tuned the products and launched the tools with the ‘Automatic’ brand line. The full line of Automatic locking pliers, groove pliers and clamps has been completely re-engineered to deliver performance and durability unmatched in the industry.
