Chelsea Products, a division of Parker Hannifin, introduces four new PTOs: 280 Series, 348 Series, 590 Series and 523 Series.

Chelsea Products, a division of Parker Hannifin and leading power transfer solutions provider, introduced four new PTOs: 280 Series, 348 Series, 590 Series and 523 Series at the Work Truck Show 2014 in Indianapolis earlier this month.

280 Series Power-Take Off

The new 280 Series with a new P.T.O. design utilizing the best of our technology and innovations from the company's current Hot Shift P.T.O.’s. This unit is designed for the 10 Bolt P.T.O. pattern on Allison and CAT Automatic transmissions.

The 280 Series combines 277 and 278 Series into one model of P.T.O. It will feature a single continuous duty torque rating. No more intermittent rating. Pump clearance issues have been improved with rotatable cast iron flanges and the Wet Spline Pump Flange option provides 7 to 10 times greater shaft life. Broader coverage of speed ranges expands from 5 ratios to 9 ratios and includes lower and higher speeds that were never available in the past. The standard output shaft features a new positive stop for driveline outputs that eliminates the ability for shaft couplings to damage oil seals.

Three option positions for the integrated solenoid valve. Plus a remote mounted option provides maximum clearance under the truck. The pressure / lube hose will be included with the new 280 Series. No need to order separately. Versatility power ease of maintenance and installation make the new 280 Series the only choice for your vocational truck requirements.

348 Series Power Take-Off

Parker Chelsea, the leading power transfer solutions provider to the Work Truck Market is pleased to introduce the 348 Series P.T.O. The Chelsea 348 Series P.T.O. is another example of why Chelsea P.T.O. technology is the best in the business. This economical workhorse features a cast iron 8 Bolt housing and heavy duty ball bearing on the output shaft, giving it a high torque rating and long service life. The Eight bolt housing eliminates the need for adapter plates that simplifies installation and eliminates possible leak paths. Chelsea was the first to provide you with an Air shifted forward and reverse speed P.T.O. Its flexible air shift design allows you to mount the air shift cylinder in the best position for maximum clearance. Torque rating up to 200 ft/lbs (271 Nm) makes this one versatile P.T.O. Take advantage of over 65 years of Chelsea P.T.O. technology to increase performance and lower costs.

590 Series Power Take-Off

The 590 Series is designed for automatic transmissions that offer a rear mount provision. The 590 offers simplified installation because there is no backlash to set. The rear mounting position provides excellent clearance for larger pump designs. The 590 is available with six direct-mount pump flanges. Each feature a wet-splined pump flange option that will help extend the P.T.O. and pump shaft life up to 10 times its normal life expectancy.

Also available is a 1410 companion flange output for remote mounted driven equipment. The 590 is available in both 12V and 24V shift options. With an excellent power to weight ratio this P.T.O. is an excellent choice for heavy duty application. Versatility, power, ease of maintenance and installation make the 590 Series the only choice for vocational truck needs.

523 Series Power Take-Off

Fleets will find power density in the Chelsea 523 Series P.T.O. The two gear designed rear mount P.T.O. provides users with a compact housing that helps eliminate clearance issues. High capacity bearings and superior gear designs provide you with torque ratings up to 260 ft/lbs (350 Nm) for the ultimate performance. The superior design of this P.T.O. provides you with all the power you will need so there is no need to de-rate the P.T.O. for continuous applications. The 523 has 17 mounting adapters that will allow it to fit on 131 transmissions. It features four shift options which are integrated into the P.T.O. housing for a space saving design. The Cam lock shift mechanism provides you with a positive engagement for each shift cycle. The 523 has two speed ratios available to meet your application requirements. The four direct mount pump flange options come standard with our Wet Spline design and provide you with increased P.T.O. and pump shaft life.
