This kit's design helps prevent breakage by locking the plug porcelain core.

This video offers a demonstration of the OTC Ford Spark Plug Removal Kit, No. 6918. This kit's design helps prevent breakage by locking the plug porcelain core -- this allows the complete unit to turn. To use, first install the collet holder assembly onto the spark plug hex and tighten the collet screw. Next, install the upper socket over the hex of the collet assembly. Use the ratchet to remove the spark plug. If a standard socket was used and only the hex portion of the spark plug was removed, but the entire porcelain insulator and ground electrode shield remain in the cylinder head, then we have a separated spark plug. Thread the nut onto the collet screw to the adapter. Continue threading the nut to pull the porcelain and electrode portions of the spark plug out of the cylinder head For Best Results, always remember to follow the detailed instructions included in the kit.
