Higher-resolution versions of the new Occupat ional Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) truck tire charts are now available on the agency’s website.

“We were informed by several members that the images on the charts were not clear when they were enlarged, so we immediately alerted OSHA and requested high-resolution files,” reports Kevin Rohlwing, senior vice president of training at the Tire Industry Association (TIA).

“Within 24 hours they had the new files on the website,” he notes.

“TIA has developed an excellent working relationship with OSHA,” Rohlwing points out, “and this is a prime example of how we are working together to help protect workers who service truck tires and wheels.”

The high-resolution versions are intended for tire dealers that want to print posters to be displayed in the service area for all the technicians to reference. In order to maintain compliance, the charts must be at least 2 feet by 3 feet; the original files did not reproduce clearly at the larger size.

The files can be downloaded here.

Truck tire repair providers are reminded that the new OSHA charts must be available in every service area, including mobile tire vehicles. At minimum, the 20-page chart booklet must be printed and available for every employee that works on truck tires. The booklet is available through TIA or OSHA.
