Tracer Articles Inc. reports its Tracerline VioMAX Plus telescopic, true UV (violet light) leak detection lamp makes seeing leaking fluid easy and quick.
It is engineered for finding A/C and fluid leaks in tight, cramped areas inaccessible to larger lamps. Its super-bright 400 nm violet light LED offers optimal fluorescent response and contrast, and works with both universal/ester and PAG A/C dyes, as well as most fluid dyes.
Simply add a small amount of Tracerline fluorescent dye to the leaky system and let it circulate. The dye will escape with the refrigerant or liquid. When scanned with the VioMAX Plus, the leak will glow brightly.
The VioMAX Plus (TP-8650ACS) is very lightweight and portable; weighing just 1.6 oz. (45 g). It measures only 9 in. (23 cm) in the closed position and extends to a full 29 inches (74 cm). With the aid of the large pivoting mirror, measuring 1 inch in diameter (2.54 cm), the technician can clearly view even the most elusive leaks from any angle; even those that are out of sight and out of reach. And there’s never a concern about having the batteries die out. That’s because the lamp automatically turns on when the shaft is extended and off when the shaft is compressed.
Powered by three 1.5 volt (AG3/LR41) batteries (included), the VioMAX Plus has an LED service life of 100,000 hours.
Because they can safely stay working in vehicle systems and never have to be flushed out, Tracerline dyes are a cost-effective method for finding future leaks, too. When used with the VioMAX a part of a regularly scheduled, preventive maintenance plan, the lamp and dyes pay for themselves in quick diagnostics, reduced vehicle down-time and increased labor efficiency, the company notes.
