Alan Gustafson, crew chief for Jeff Gordon and the No. 24 Chevrolet, won the 2011 MOOG “Problem Solver of the Year” Award. The announcement was made during the Ford 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
“Alan was consistently excellent on pit road this year. He made great calls in key races and did a remarkable job of maximizing the performance of the No. 24 car’s MOOG-equipped chassis,” said Michael Proud, director of marketing, North America, Federal-Mogul. “Our weekly and season-ending awards are all about having a feel for the racetrack and the car and making the precise steering and suspension adjustments necessary to come out on top. No one did that better than Alan in 2011.”
The year-end MOOG Problem Solver award is presented to the crew chief who delivers the most consistent problem solving performance throughout the season. The MOOG Problem Solver of the Year Award and the weekly MOOG “Problem Solver of the Race” Award are sponsored by Federal-Mogul Corp.
