“State-of-the-art construction and design make this tire a perfect fit for sports sedans and coupes,” says COO Marty Furman.
“Improvements over the Toyo Proxes T1R include better high speed stability, precise steering response, improved braking performance and high cornering power at high speed,” he reports. The T1R is still available in 15 sizes ranging from 15- to 22-inch rim diameters.
Track tested on the Nürburgring in Germany, the T1 Sport “delivers increased control and precision for true balance in both wet and dry handling,” according to Furman.
Optimum cornering performance and straight line stability are a result of a new high stiffness compound that is combined with an asymmetric, non-directional tread, he says. Wide outer tread blocks deliver responsive steering and high grip, and wide tread grooves help channel water for improved resistance to aquaplaning.
Available in 42 sizes, it also qualifies for the company’s 45-day/500-mile Trial Offer and comes with a 20,000-mile warranty.
