“Known by many as the longest-running ‘heads-up door-slammer race’ in the world,” according to motorsports manager Carl Robinson, the company’s partnership program is focused on presenting the Outlaw 10.5 and Drag Radial classes.
At the 57th Annual World Series of Drag Racing in August at Cordova Dragway Park, Paul Romine established a new track record with a 5.79-second elapsed time while running on Mickey Thompson ET Drag tires.
Mike Savage, whose Candies & Hughes tribute Barracuda was also equipped with the company’s ETs, claimed the overall victory.The action was witnessed by a crowd of 25,000 fans.
“It was incredible to see these talented competitors perform on our tires at this event,” Robinson reports. “To celebrate an event winner and an event record-breaker on our tires as a single event was very exciting for all of us.”
The company, founded in 1963 by racing legend Mickey Thompson, is headquartered in Stow, Ohio.
