The Milwaukee Tool M12 Solder Iron, No. 2488-21, is designed to heat quickly and maintain optimized temperature to provide improved productivity for users making soldered connections.The M12 Soldering Iron heats quickly, reaching operational temperature in 18 seconds, minimizing downtime between applications, the company says.This tool uses Redlink Plus Intelligence to monitor the temperature of the tip to prevent overheating or damage to wires. A heat indicator notifies users when the tool is ready to use and safe to store. When turned on, the status LED blinks green to indicate the soldering iron is heating up. When the tool reaches soldering temperature, the light turns solid green. The tip will continue to increase in temperature until it reaches max temperature of 750 degrees F. When the job is complete and the iron is turned off, the LED will remain red until the tool reaches a temperature where it can be stored.The tool also features a three-stop pivoting head.
