Further tools and training required for aluminum Ford F-150 repairs

Feb. 25, 2015
In addition to technician training, many new tools and equipment are necessary.

The 2015 aluminum Ford F-150 has now reached most dealerships across the country. It won't be long until automotive repair shops and body shops alike will need to become fluent in these new repair techniques. According to Joe Arnold, vice president of Arnold's Body Shop in Davenport, Iowa., “If you want to repair the F-150, you have to go and be Ford F-150 certified for aluminum repair.”

In addition to training, many new tools and equipment are necessary. Arnold estimates an investment upwards of $50,000 to adequately equip a shop that will be performing these repairs. To view the entire story, visit: wqad.com/2015/02/06/aluminum-f-150s-cost-dealerships-in-the-short-term
