NAPA promotion supports Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund

July 25, 2014
Get ready to “Get Back and Give Back”

For the third year in a row, NAPA and the Electrical Sales Group is honoring the brave men and women of the United States armed forces this July by offering powerful savings to consumers while partnering with the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund (IFHF) through the “Get Back and Give Back” promotion.

It’s as simple as this: NAPA pledges to “give back” $1 to the Fund for every consumer rebate redeemed for NAPA batteries, alternators and starters; and $2 for qualifying installations at NAPA AutoCare Centers and preferred Installers. Consumers can also participate by donating up to their entire rebate amount to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.

NAPA employees, stores, suppliers and customers helped raise $350,000 for the IFHF in 2012 and $1,000,000 in 2013, making NAPA AUTO PARTS one of the single largest donors to the Fund.

July begins with “Starts and Stripes Week”

To kick off the NAPA “Get Back and Give Back” event, all NAPA store and AutoCare Center employees are encouraged to wear the new limited edition red, white and blue Starts and Stripes T-shirts with the popular “NAPA We Believe in Heroes” logo June 28-July 6.

The NAPA support bracelets imprinted with “NAPA We Believe in Heroes” and “Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund” are back by popular demand. These bracelets make the perfect in-store or shop handouts, giveaways for preferred customers or they can be used for your own marketing efforts. You can even sell them and contribute the proceeds to IFHF.

New for 2014 is the NAPA and Intrepid Fallen Heroes lapel pin. The t-shirts, bracelets and lapel pins are a natural way to announce the promotion to customers and honor our soldiers while raising money for the IFHF.

NAPA will donate $3 to the IFHF for every T-shirt purchased, $0.50 for each bracelet and $0.70 for each lapel pin.

The T-shirts and bracelets will also be available for consumers to purchase online at NAPAonline.com at a cost of $15 with all proceeds going to the IFHF. The promotion will be featured on Facebook and Twitter. In addition, those websites will feature a link to a donation page.

The IFHF Mission

IFHF is dedicated to serving United States military personnel wounded or injured in service to our nation, and their families.  Supporting these heroes helps repay the debt all Americans owe them for the sacrifices they have made.  They are, in the words of IFHF’s founder, the late Zachary Fisher, “our nation’s greatest national resource,” and they deserve all the help that our nation can provide.  The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund is a leader in meeting this important national mission.

The IFHF is funded entirely by donations from the public. This means 100 percent of every dollar donated goes to construction costs of new facilities, state-of-the-art equipment, treatment, research and more.

IFHF Quick Facts

  • Established in 2000.
  • Has provided almost $150 million in support for the families of military personnel lost in service to our nation, and for those severely wounded in performance of their duty in Afghanistan and/or Iraq.
  • In 2007, opened a world-class physical rehabilitation center at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX.
  • In 2010, opened the $60 million National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) on the Navy campus in Bethesda, Maryland, for the research, diagnosis and treatment of Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), post-traumatic stress (PTS) and related injuries sustained by military personnel.
  • In 2013, opened two NICoE Satellite Centers (Ft. Belvoir, VA and Camp Lejeune, NC) at an approximate cost of $11 million each.  These sites will enable military personnel to receive state-of-the-art treatment for TBI and PTS in connection with the main NICoE center located in Maryland.
  • Construction has begun on two more “Intrepid Spirit” Centers at Ft. Campbell, KY, and Fort Bragg, NC.
  • The Fund’s current efforts are focused on the design and construction of five additional NICoE Satellite Centers.
