Matco Tools provides veterans with career options

Matco Tools offers veterans $10,000 in incentives.

Matco Tools, which was named one of the top franchise options for veterans by G.I. Jobs earlier this year, continues to honor service men and women by offering them $10,000 in free hand tools at list price when they purchase a Matco Tools mobile franchise.

“The transition for military members to civilian life is always front of mind around Veteran’s Day, and Matco Tools is proud to offer these individuals the help they need to transition into a new career,” said John Green, vice president of marketing and eBusiness at Matco Tools. “We are committed to supporting those who have served our country through our financial discount and ongoing franchise support.”

Matco’s offer gives servicemen the chance to use their extensive background and skills to work with a company that has a history of working with veterans, along with the freedom to run their own mobile tool business. With the backing of a national brand like Matco Tools, veterans receive the guidance they need to transition into a new career. To date, more than 230 veteran franchisees have found a new professional life with Matco Tools.

“We take great pride in giving all of our distributors the tools they need to thrive, regardless of their previous experience,” said Green. “Returning to civilian life after military service can be difficult, but when veterans join Matco, they become part of an award-winning franchise system that cares.”

Matco provides all of its franchisees with a minimum of 152 hours of classroom and field training, to give them the best preparation possible. The company also provides each franchisee with a list of at least 325 potential customers on a pre-qualified list of calls, along with comprehensive training on how to effectively service these customers. Matco distributors continue to receive support throughout their career from district managers and the Matco Tools support line.

“It can be intimidating to start a business, but Matco gives you the whole package when it comes to your franchise,” said Thomas Ryan, a 28-year Army veteran and Matco Tools distributor in Colorado. “I see the parallels between Matco and the military and that helped me succeed. Within a month of starting my franchise it was paying its own bills.”
