Vehicle Fault Diagnostics utilizes an all makes and models approach to present diagnostic information about electronic components.

Platform Science, an enterprise IoT fleet management platform, announced a partnership with Noregon, an IoT company specializing in connected vehicle solutions. The partnership leverages Noregon’s diagnostics expertise to bring detailed, remote fault code information to Platform Science’s connected vehicle open platform.

Platform Science provides a variety of fleet management applications in their platform, including solutions for electronic logging device (ELD), driver safety, workflow, and more. In conjunction with Noregon, Platform Science’s latest offering, Vehicle Fault Diagnostics, utilizes an all makes and models approach to present diagnostic information about all electronic components on the vehicle. Including detailed fault descriptions and action plans for best managing active issues, Vehicle Fault Diagnostics gives fleet managers the information needed to reduce unexpected breakdowns and increase vehicle uptime.

“The transportation industry is really being transformed by connected vehicle data and how to utilize that information,” says Devin Smith, product manager for Platform Science. “When analyzing a vehicle’s health from a data perspective, Vehicle Fault Diagnostics is a challenging framework to understand so it was imperative to find a partner that could assist us with those challenges. That is why Noregon is the perfect partner for us. With the quality and scope of Noregon’s offerings, our integrated solution will provide fleets with comprehensive actionable plans for immediate improvements in productivity and efficiency.”

Rather than providing real-time insights for a single powertrain component, Vehicle Fault Diagnostics monitors all electronic control units (ECUs) and provides users with the information needed to make decisions. With all the pertinent diagnostic information available from anywhere with an internet connection, fleets can utilize early detection practices and make the business decision that best suits their needs, whether that means routing the vehicle to a service center or confidently informing the driver he or she can finish the delivery with no expected issues.

In addition to their in-shop diagnostic and repair solution, JPRO, Noregon has more than 25 years of experience working with industry members to deliver custom solutions. “Given our shared vision of the future of IoT in trucking, partnering with Platform Science was an obvious choice to help us deliver comprehensive diagnostic information to fleets and vehicle owners who rely on advanced maintenance practices to keep pace with technological changes,” said Tim Bigwood, CEO, Noregon.
