Former NFL team owner opens technician training school

Aug. 17, 2011
Norman Braman, former owner of the Philadelphia Eagles professional football team, and owner of several Miami dealerships, opens a private technician school for inner city high school graduates.

Some students are getting a tune-up from a man who definitely knows a thing or two about the car business. In a few days, 23 Miami-Dade inner city high school graduates will jump start careers in the car repair business thanks to auto tycoon Norman Braman. Bob Bernstein with Braman Motors said this program is a great opportunity. "It gives them a career. It gives them an opportunity to make a very, very decent wage."

The students will pay nothing. They will work out of this classroom and these state-of-the-art service stalls. They will get the chance to work after school for the dealership, getting hands-on experience. In a year, they will be ready for a new career or they can stay for advanced training.
