These tools are designed to help technicians install and replace self-piercing rivets as part of door-skinning processes.

The Steck Manufacturing SPR Extraction and Insertion Tools, Nos. 21970 and 21960, allow technicians to repair, remove and install self-piercing rivets without the need of hydraulic tools. The SPR Extraction Tool is a high-grade, hardened steel frame with a 1/2"-20, Grade-8 hex bolt with a hardened tip to push out a SPR with a 3/4" or 19mm socket. The SPR Insertion Tool is a high-grade, hardened steel frame with a 1/2"-20 Grade-8 hex bolt with a magnetic end and a center recess to hold the replacement SPR. Users can insert the SPR with a 3/4" or 19mm socket on a 1/2" impact wrench.

These tools work in conjunction with Steck Manufacturing's Al Skin Zipper, No. 21892, and Al Skin Zipper2, No. 21896, and they allow technicians to complete the door skin process and build their respective resumes for aluminum repair.

Working with Ford, Steck Manufacturing found the need to have a technician solution to install and replace self-piercing rivets as part of door-skinning processes at a fraction of the cost of hydraulic tools.

Made in the U.S.A., these two tools are made from a high-grade hardened steel frame with a 1/2” 20 Grade-8 hex bolt that delivers over 450 lbs of rotational torque to install and remove the self-piercing rivets.
