As part of its ILSAC GF-6 product line, Phillips 66 Lubricants is introducing the Kendall®
GT-1® High Mileage Booster and Phillips 66 Shield® High Mileage Booster, available exclusively through Phillips 66 Lubricants Distributors.
“Oil supplements have been used for a long time but were never fully vetted through the API and ILSAC licensing programs,” said Dr. Scott McQueen, manager, Lubricants Research and Product Management for Phillips 66. “Phillips 66 has optimized this supplement with our core chemistry to deliver an oil change that is fully licensed when added to a Phillips 66 or Kendall motor oil and gives the users peace of mind that they are getting a tested and compatible oil change.”
The booster supplement maximizes engine performance, protecting against rust, bearing corrosion and sludge. It has been formulated for severe service like towing heavy loads, frequently driving in stop-and-go traffic and vehicles that have missed recommended oil change intervals.
This product gives lube shops the ability to offer a Phillips 66 and Kendall synthetic blend or full synthetic high mileage oil change to their customers while significantly reducing their inventory space.
“Years of consulting with our customers on space concerns and testing our formulations alongside ILSAC GF-6 advancements allowed us to develop this booster supplement,” said McQueen.
The booster is the first pour-in oil supplement that maintains the full API and ILSAC licensing when added to Kendall GT-1 Max (full synthetic), Kendall GT-1 HP Elite (premium synthetic blend) or Kendall GT-1 High Performance (synthetic blend), and Phillips 66 Shield Valor (full synthetic) or Phillips 66 Shield Choice (synthetic blend).
The new boosters, used with Kendall and Phillips 66 engine oil products, meet ILSAC GF-6 specifications and are backward compatible with ILSAC GF-5 oils.
The new Kendall GT-1 High Mileage Booster and Phillips 66 High Mileage Booster will be available mid-May.
