Cosworth names manager of distributor network for aftermarket performance products

Cosworth announced the appointment of automotive sales and service veteran Christopher Thompson to the position of key account manager for Cosworth’s distributor network for aftermarket performance products.

Cosworth announced the appointment of automotive sales and service veteran Christopher Thompson to the position of key account manager for Cosworth’s distributor network for aftermarket performance products.

In this newly created position, Thompson will draw on his previous sales development expertise to manage and develop relations with Cosworth’s channel partner network of dealers and distributors that supply a range of aftermarket products to performance enthusiasts all around the world. He will work from Cosworth’s Torrance, Calif., office.

Prior to joining Cosworth, Thompson, 32, served for four years as sales and customer service manager at United Pacific Industries, a leader in big rig chrome and classic car aftermarket accessories. During his time there, Thompson managed an active dealer network of more than 300 accounts globally while piloting new market expansions into the vintage motorcycle, powersports, and off-road vehicle sectors. Thompson’s primary responsibilities included leading and cultivating a dynamic sales and customer service team and creating and implementing advanced sales and marketing strategies to increase revenue and brand awareness.

Thompson previously served as regional sales manager for MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust where he managed more than 30 accounts and $20 million dollars of combined annual sales.  Additionally, he implemented new business development strategies generating over $1 million in new account business.

Prior to his time with MagnaFlow, Thompson spent two years as a sales professional at Yearwood Speed and Custom providing sales assistance and technical services at automotive events across the U.S.

Thompson earned his Bachelor’s degree in Management from Pepperdine University. He is a resident of Huntington Beach, Calif.
