Uni-Select raised $115,000 for the Mira Foundation as part of its golf tournament.

Uni-Select raised $115,000 for the Mira Foundation as part of its golf tournament.

This annual event took place July 2 at the Golf Club La Vallée du Richelieu and the company said it was successful due to the contribution and generosity of its main sponsors, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton, Total Canada and RBC Capital Markets, as well as the participation of its business partners and 170 golfers.

"It is with great pride that we rallied our business partners to support the activities of the Mira Foundation. For seven years now, we have been collaborating with the foundation to develop the dog assistance program for children with PDD (Pervasive Developmental Disorder). We are pleased to contribute to the well-being of children," said Denis Mathieu, Executive Vice President, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer of Uni-Select and Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Mira Foundation.

"The support of Uni-Select and its partners enables us to continue our mission and make a real difference in people's lives," said Nicolas St-Pierre, Assistant General Manager and Chief Instructor of the Mira Foundation. "Every year, we are impressed by Uni-Select’s involvement and its team's ability to raise such significant amounts to help us maintain our activities."

The Mira Foundation offers, among other services, the opportunity for families of children with autism spectrum disorder to benefit from the services of an assistance dog. The implementation of this program follows several years of extensive research of these dogs within families.
