Holmes currently serves as senior vice president of Interstate’s independently owned territories (IOT) and Interstate’s PowerCare Division featuring critical and motive solutions.  With Scott Miller moving to the president and CEO role, Holmes adds the title of senior vice president for distributor operations & innovation team.

“I am very excited to take on these additional responsibilities and opportunities in working with our many wonderful distributors,” Holmes said.  “Scott provided a strong foundation in this position with his leadership, and I look forward to continuing to build on what he has put in place.”

Holmes started with Interstate in 1995 as associate general counsel after working for outside law firms following his graduation from Baylor University Law School in 1990.  The company named Holmes general counsel in 1997, and since that time he has served in a variety of roles, including vice president of human resources and vice president of Interstate’s PowerCare division.

“Walt has demonstrated tremendous leadership and this transition of responsibilities will ensure a smooth continuity of operations,” said Scott Miller, who preceded Holmes in that position and who becomes Interstate Batteries president & CEO on May 1.

Holmes is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Texas General Counsel Forum. He graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and Juris Doctorate degree from Baylor Law School.
