TomTom Telematics releases new solutions for large fleets and electronic logging

TomTom Telematics' solutions will be showcased at NAFA Institute & Expo in Tampa, Florida.

TomTom Telematics announced two new solutions: a streamlined solution for larger fleets of cars and vans, and a turnkey solution for ELD compliance.

ELD Compliance Solution

TomTom Telematics announced Webfleet ELD Manager, a turnkey electronic logging solution to help fleets meet the new FMCSA ELD mandate surrounding hours of service (HOS), which will be available summer 2017.

Webfleet ELD Manager will be showcased at the NAFA Institute & Expo, April 26-27, 2017, booth No. 1246.

The FMCSA’s electronic logging device (ELD) rule is intended to help create a safer work environment for drivers, and make it easier, faster to accurately track, manage, and share records of duty status (RODS) data. An ELD synchronizes with a vehicle engine to automatically record driving time, for easier, more accurate hours of service (HOS) recording.

Webfleet ELD Manager incorporates hardware and software components to help fleets comply with the FMCSA mandate.

Key components include: TomTom PRO 8275M/8275M TRUCK, TomTom LINK 530, and a dedicated application for HOS and driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIR) recording, powered by eFleetSuite from ISE. eFleetSuite captures all required information for the driver’s log and automatically calculates driver’s time remaining based on various daily and weekly limits. Comprehensive back-office reporting allows fleet personnel to make proactive decisions to avoid HOS violations and focus on resource optimization.

Integral to the Webfleet ELD Manager solution, the TomTom PRO 8275M is a fully customizable, connected open platform driver terminal, with many readymade apps already available in the TomTom Telematics app center. It combines the latest navigation and fleet technology in a ruggedized 7"  touchscreen driver terminal with lifetime maps and lifetime TomTom Traffic1, truck specific routing (where required), rear camera support, and near field communications. Through TomTom LINK 530, the TomTom PRO 8275M also connects to Webfleet for online fleet management.

“ISE is honored to be chosen by TomTom Telematics for its ELD and DVIR deployments. eFleetSuite was developed using ISE’s deep transportation experience and provides TomTom Telematics a fully featured compliance application that will help fleet customers achieve productivity gains, safety improvements and reduced CSA scores,” says ISE Chris Nelson, Vice President, ISE Fleet Services.

“This is a compliance solution that fleets can rely on, delivered by a trusted global brand,” says Torsten Gruenzig, Director of North American Sales, TomTom Telematics. “Webfleet ELD Manager and the TomTom PRO 8 series driver terminals offer fleet businesses so much more value than just providing peace of mind around compliance. Our complete, turnkey solution can be customized to a fleet’s business processes and workflows, including integration possibilities through a proven telematics open platform. It also comes with one of the most comprehensive fleet management solutions on the market today, allowing owner/operators to empower their mobile workforce to work smarter, run their operations with greater efficiency, and leverage data to make better business decisions.”

TomTom Pro 2020 for large fleets

TomTom Telematics announced the US availability of the TomTom PRO 2020. The driver terminal, which can be used in cars and vans, combines a set of features allowing large fleet owners using Webfleet, to connect their entire fleets while helping them be more in control of driver style and compliance.

The TomTom PRO 2020 will be showcased in the TomTom Telematics booth No. 1246 at NAFA 2017 Institute and Expo in Tampa, Florida.

For the first time, the TomTom PRO 20201 combines four essential features in one unit to bring greater visibility and efficiency to the manager, the driver and the business:

  • Driver ID to know who is driving, and buzzer alert to ensure authentication;
  • Mileage Log to capture business and private mileage;
  • Working Times so individual employees can log time which can help comply with legislation and policy; and
  • OptiDrive 360, which empowers drivers to improve driving performance with visual and audible feedback as they drive.

By packaging these with an interactive touchscreen interface, the TomTom PRO 2020 creates an engaging experience for the driver, which is more effective at helping to change their behavior and improve their driving style, the company says. Its simplicity enables and encourages accurate logging of work times and business/private trip data, and its compact screen size (2.5") means it can be fitted to the vehicle dashboard without taking up too much space.

For fleet managers the TomTom PRO 2020 offers a quick and easy way to empower drivers to be accountable. It also provides powerful reporting via Webfleet and the ability to integrate easily into existing back office systems.

“Owners of large fleets often find connecting all their vehicles can be challenging and expensive. Including only essential functionality in one device, the TomTom PRO 2020 provides fleet owners with a quick and easy solution to this problem,” said Torsten Grunzig, Director of Sales at TomTom Telematics North America. “By giving fleet owners a consistent way of collecting data across their whole fleet, we are not only helping to reduce the total cost of ownership across the fleet, but we are also helping them to more easily, more quickly and more efficiently reach their goals. This is the latest innovative development we are offering to help support both manager and driver, as well as the industry as a whole in its digital transformation.”

The TomTom PRO 2020 is now available throughout the United States.
