Automakers have moved from traditional battery clamps to band-style clamps (lead-free connectors) in recent years. Replacement connectors are available, but until now, no tool has been able to provide an OEM-style crimp. At AAPEX 2013, Quick Cable Corp. announced the B-Crimping Tool, No. 4265M, the first tool to crimp band-style clamps using a “B” crimp shape, bending the clamp tabs to lock on the battery cable. The finished crimp looks and performs just like the OEM installation. The tool comes with large and small dies. Like other Quick Cable crimpers and cutters, the B-Crimping Tool is made at the company’s manufacturing plant in Franksville, Wisc.
