2011 Ford Engine Performance Course and Training Manual

Aug. 17, 2011

The Automotive Training Group has released the 2011 Ford Engine Performance 7-hour course and Training Manual. As previous Ford models have been redesigned or replaced, they’ve been releasing some clever but complicated new systems. Ford is aggressively converting their product line to include: Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI); highly controlled turbo charging systems; a new ‘Universal’ Heated Oxygen Sensor (UHO2S); Rear Fuel Trim – making fine adjustments using the downstream HO2S; a number of new VCT systems (single, dual dependent and dual independent); Natural Vacuum (passive) EVAP systems; and new variations on return less fuel systems. Also included is expanded coverage and new strategies for these older systems and issues: Better methods for isolating misfiring; the best test ever for finding lower intake leaks; COP stress testing; Triton spark plug repair; new Ignition and fuel system PIDs to shorten diagnostics; and improved EGR root-cause diagnostic tips.
