Temper Axle Products’ Doctor Preload bearing adjustment tools and Temper-Loc spindle nuts enable wheel end bearing adjustment in under one minute, with accurate settings to SAE Recommended Practice J2535 target preload force levels. The result is extended bearing, seal and tire life, along with lower total wheel end maintenance costs, says the company. Doctor Preload’s special load arms reach around the Temper-Loc nut to directly apply measured force to the bearings. Torque is never applied to the nut. Preload force is measured during the adjustment process. A sturdy retaining ring is inserted by hand, and no other tools are required.
