Arctic BREEZE Truck A/C

June 9, 2009

The US EPA has added Hammond Air Conditioning to its index of environmentally "smart" transportation technologies, qualifying Hammond to display the SmartWay service mark. The new system provides highly efficient cooling for drivers while they are loading or on sleep breaks, without requiring power from the truck engine or from an auxiliary power unit (APU). Arctic BREEZE Truck AC systems use advanced 12V battery technology that can deliver hours of service and then recharge quickly while the truck is operating.
Hammond developed the system using just three proprietary components, ensuring simple installation and service. Arctic BREEZE Truck AC delivers 8000 BTU of cooling, while drawing as little as 45 Amps from six AGM glass mat truck batteries. Each system is equipped with an integrated low voltage cut-out switch to prevent draining the starting batteries.
