Hermetic Glass-to-Metal Seals

SCHOTT manufactures highly developed hermetic glass-to metal seals that ensure that components remain fail-proof over a long period of time. They are used, for example, for pressure sensors, such as those for measuring the pressure in fuel supply lines or braking systems. In motor vehicles, these high-tech products are found in such applications as gas and pressure sensors, transistor housings, belt pretensioners, engine and transmission control units and feed-throughs for airbag igniters or batteries. In addition to high electrical insulation, GTMS also provide hermetic sealing and resistance to pressure, chemicals and corrosion.
