DEKRA North America (NA), Inc. announced that it is a certified provider of automotive lift inspections in accordance with the ANSI/ALI ALOIM Standard for Automotive Lifts – Safety Requirements for Operation, Inspection and Maintenance. As the only ALI Certified Automotive Lift Inspection provider in North America that does not also sell or repair automotive lifts, DEKRA will provide independent and unbiased lift inspections of all manufacturer brands, as well as training and consulting services to ensure safety of employees, company and customer property, and compliance with ANSI/ALI ALOIM standards.

Lift inspections help protect service technicians by ensuring that automotive lifts are installed correctly, functioning properly, and adequately maintained.  ANSI/ALI ALOIM:2008 requires dealerships, service stations, vocational schools, or any facility where automotive lifts are used in the U.S. and Canada to inspect their automotive lifts on an annual basis to comply with requirements from OSHA, insurance companies and governing authorities.

“As an independent third-party provider that does not sell lifts or parts, or perform repair work, DEKRA performs truly unbiased inspections with our customers’ safety as our sole objective,” said Michael “Buck” Gasner, automotive lift inspection operations manager at DEKRA. “DEKRA is a leading provider of automotive inspections, completing over 23 million inspections around the globe, and we are excited to add automotive lift inspections to our service offerings.”

The Automotive Lift Institute (ALI) Lift Inspector Certification Program provides third-party qualification of vehicle lift inspectors and certifies those who demonstrate they are capable of properly inspecting vehicle lifts in accordance with the ANSI standard and in support of OSHA’s General Duty Clause, as well as provincial requirements in Canada. The program further provides a proactive alternative to support service bay safety.
