Drivewyze has announced that Drivewyze PreClear bypass service has been added in Georgia, making it the 26th state to offer the mobile-based weigh station bypass service.

Drivewyze has announced that Drivewyze PreClear bypass service has been added in Georgia, making it the 26th state to offer the mobile-based weigh station bypass service.

Drivewyze PreClear is now available on major routes through the Peach State including U.S. Interstates 16, 20, 75, 85 and 95. Thirteen sites went live on July 31, with the remaining six scheduled to go live in the next few days.

“We’re pleased the Georgia Department of Public Safety’s Motor Carrier Compliance Division recognizes the value of using Drivewyze technology to prescreen safe commercial operators,” said Brian Heath, president of Drivewyze.

“Drivewyze PreClear has become the fastest growing bypass service in the industry,” Heath said. “It’s clear more and more safety officials and fleet and truck operators see the benefit of using cellular technology and the internet to add transponder-like functionality to electronic logging devices, smartphones and tablets.”

Unlike traditional methods that use dedicated short-range communication transponders in every truck, Drivewyze doesn’t require the installation of additional equipment.

Drivewyze offers compliance officers the ability to respond more efficiently to growing truck traffic without compromising the safety of the motoring public, Heath added. That reduces congestion in and around weigh stations, allowing freight to move more quickly.

“With the total number of locations in the United States soon to reach 400, Drivewyze PreClear provides more inspection site bypass opportunities than any other bypass service,” Heath said. “By adding the Drivewyze mobile-based inspection site bypass to 19 sites, the Georgia Motor Carrier Compliance Division is providing a choice for truck fleets and operators. With Drivewyze-enabled sites already online in Alabama, Florida and Mississippi, long-haul and regional carriers in those four states as well as those that travel within the region will have more opportunities to save money.”

With the addition of Georgia, Drivewyze PreClear is now available at 384 locations in 26 states. A map with all of the currently active weigh stations in the South and across the country is available on the Drivewyze web site: http://drivewyze.com/coverage-map/
