Michelin Americas Truck Tires launched a new and innovative website that includes some industry-first features and is designed to be more customer driven and mobile-friendly than the previous version of MichelinTruck.com. On this new site, Michelin customers can quickly use online tools that include fuel and mileage and weight savings calculators.

MichelinTruck.com is accessible on all mobile devices and includes a more advanced tire selector with optimized search and tire model comparison functions. New to the site is a retread selector - the first one offered by a tire manufacturer - which indicates which retreads will fit on a particular tire casing. Information from the site can be printed or shared via social channels or email, and new features allow customers to create an account and save searches for dealers, tires, and access previous fuel and mileage and weight comparisons, as well as all available services, reference materials and testimonials.

“Our goal for the new site was to provide a robust user experience for our customers, with information and tools to assist their decision making and trucking operations” said Bianca Hogan, U.S. country marketing manager, Michelin Americas Truck Tires. “Our customers will especially appreciate the new tire and retread selectors as well as the calculators that help estimate improvements to their bottom line.”

Upgrades

Fuel and Mileage Calculator – Knowing that everyone is looking to reduce fuel costs, Michelintruck.com designers make it possible for users to run highly accurate driving simulations that identify the right MICHELIN tire for their business operations. This feature performs life-like simulations - comparing and contrasting fuel economy and tire wear, and balancing this information with the impact it will have on annual fuel bill and tire costs. Customers can compare a current set of tires against a proposed set of tires, including a second life scenario that represents retreads or a second fitment. The tool results are summarized in an executive summary, including graphical analysis.

Weight Savings Calculator – The weight savings calculator is designed to let customers calculate potential increased revenues from converting from duals to MICHELIN X One tires. Selections are made from pre-weighted commodities or entered by custom hauled items. The tool shows the potential payback in months and potential increased revenues over a three year period.  It can also be linked to the fuel and mileage calculator.

Tire Selector – This section has been completely redesigned to include more information, such as tread pattern, retread offerings, application, SmartWay verification, special warranties, rolling resistance, benefits, sizes and other features readily visible in a quick search option. All the features can be viewed in a side by side comparison.

Retread Selector – The retread selector indicates which retreads will fit on a particular tire casing. The reference tab includes product videos, product sheets, SmartWay verification and warranties.

Dealer Locator – Customers can search via address or location and new icons identify the services dealers offer. The dealer location and information are visible on the map at all times and there are ways to refine the search.
