Mayhew Steel Products, Inc. acquires adjacent manufacturing facility
Mayhew Steel Products Inc. announced that it has completed the acquisition of the land and buildings adjacent to its facility in the Turners Falls Airport Industrial Park.
The property, which includes a modern 17,000 square foot office and manufacturing building on a 4 acre parcel that abuts Mayhew in the Turners Falls Airport Industrial Park, was the former location of Turbo Steam LLC at 161 Industrial Blvd. The expansion creates a 12 acre smoke-free campus with over 80,000 square feet of manufacturing, warehouse and office space.
Since 2012, the Mayhew facility has been operating 24 hours per day, seven days a week. “The building became available for purchase at an opportune time as we were planning on an addition of the existing building later this year,” said John Lawless, president. “We are proud of our long history as a US manufacturer and look forward to many years of continued operation, serving our US and global customers.”
In addition to providing needed room for growth, the action will allow Mayhew to reduce its carbon footprint by improving efficiency on particular energy intensive operations.
