Maxion Wheels has announced the appointment of Joe Wolf as its global advanced engineering manager. Wolf is an 18-year company veteran with a strong track record of developing customer relationships and understanding their needs.

According to Tom Heck, Maxion’s global director of advanced engineering, the company places significant importance on the practical exploration of new materials and technologies that will enable innovative engineering and marketing of new truck and trailer wheels technologies to Maxion’s North American OE (original equipment) and fleet customers.

Maxion Wheels has a long history of innovation with products like hub-piloted wheels for simplified maintenance, stud-piloted wheels for superior strength, 100 percent measured run-out for quality assurance, low-point marking for driver comfort and triple-protection finishes for enhanced styling and durability. Wolf joined Maxion Wheels in 1995 as a product engineer. He has also held management positions in engineering and program launch, and as senior account manager on the North American sales team, supporting Chrysler, Volvo Trucks and the military vehicle OEMs. He holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.

The company, with North American manufacturing facilities in Akron, Ohio and San Luis Potosi, Mexico, supplies the majority of mediums and heavy duty truck and trailer manufacturers in North America.
