ATI recalls transmissions in 2013 Chevy Camaros

Dec. 13, 2013
Transmission with weak pawl can result in roll away.

ATI Performance Products, Inc. (ATI) is recalling certain Powerglide model 200660SC automatic transmissions used in 2013 COPO Chevrolet Camaros, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The affected transmissions may have weak park pawl.

If the transmission has a weak pawl, the transmission may come out of park and the vehicle may roll away, increasing the risk of a crash

ATI will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the transmission and torque converter, as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in December 2013.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
