Just in time for the 2013 SEMA Show, UPS announced the winner of its “Ride Your Hauler to SEMA” Contest. The contest, in its first year, was designed to celebrate the creative talent among the automotive specialty aftermarket. Jeb Greenstone, president, designer and lead fabricator of Cutworm Specialties won the competition. Cutworm Specialties, based in Hayesville, NC, is a custom hot rod builder. Greenstone’s winning entry is a “Dually Hauler” built by his company for Joe Kral Minneapolis, Minn.

According to Greenstone, this parts hauler “breaks the rules in design with loads of attitude.” The build took approximately 6 months and the company produced the all-aluminum body and bed, based on the designs of 1930-31 Ford Model A trucks. Cutworm Specialties built the custom vehicle‘s suspension, spindles, axle and lug nuts from scratch. The hauler’s rear axle and 19.5” wheels were taken from a motor home.  Built for the street, the engine is a 1967 Lincoln 460 V8 with a Built c6 transmission and can reach roughly 575- 600 horsepower. The front spindles and brakes originate from a Ford Super Duty and the interior is completely handmade including the seat, dash, steering wheel and pedals.

The winning prize of the contest allows Greenstone and Kral the opportunity to prominently display their custom creation to more than 130,000 attendees in Las Vegas at the SEMA Show 2013 November 5 – 8. Contestants were asked to submit photos of their unique parts hauler designs. Entries were selected after careful review and consideration by a panel of automotive and transportation experts, and were judged based on functionality, innovation and aesthetics.
