Manufacturing expert brings OEM perspective to panel.

AkzoNobel Automotive & Aerospace Coatings Americas announced that Ron Giuntini, principal and founder of Giuntini & Co., will join the panel of its Sustainability Leadership Symposium. This industry event will be held during SEMA week in Las Vegas on Monday, November 4 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Room #N231.

Giuntini is widely recognized as an expert in designing product support strategies, focusing on remanufacturing for leading enterprises in the commercial and military communities. Over the past 35 years, he has worked in operations management and consulting with many well-known organizations including General Dynamics, Gould, L-3 Communications, Lockheed Martin, Navistar, DynCorp, Northrop Grumman, FLIR, Rockwell Collins, Rexnord, and the U.S. Army.

Currently, Giuntini serves on the board of advisors for The Remanufacturing Institute (TRI) of Automotive Parts Remanufacturing Association (APRA) and the editorial advisory board of Material Handling & Logistics magazine. He has written numerous articles for industry publications and speaks regularly at conferences and seminars.

“We are pleased to have Giuntini join the panel of industry professionals and thought leaders who are participating in this important event,“ said Laura Costello, director of marketing for AkzoNobel Automotive & Aerospace Coatings America. “His experience in the OEM market will bring a unique perspective to the dialogue among collision repair industry stakeholders as we explore the practices and processes necessary to achieve a sustainable business model.”

The symposium will be facilitated by Mike Shesterkin of What’s Next Sustainability Consulting and Sara Tollin, global sustainability specialist, AkzoNobel.

The Sustainability Leadership Symposium began in 2010 as an evolution from the AkzoNobel FIT Sustainability Award that was established in 2009 to recognize businesses and associations actively engaged in creating and delivering sustainable business practices to the collision repair segment. Three of the 2013 symposium’s panelists are recipients of the 2013 AkzoNobel FIT Sustainability Award. Both the symposium and award are aligned with the broader commitment of AkzoNobel to global sustainability and the Planet Possible strategic imperative
