Company plans to expand into automotive retail market, with hire of Scott Gompper.

Autel North America, a provider of diagnostic tools, equipment and services in the automotive aftermarket, today announced that Scott Gompper has joined the company as retail sales manager.

"This newly created position fits perfectly with our expansion plans for the North American market.  The automotive retail area is very important to us, and having a dedicated representative in this area to complement our commercial sales matches our company's strategic objective of market expansion", said Art Jacobsen, CEO of Autel North America.  "I've known Scott for several years.  Scott brings a great deal of passion and a real grasp of the industry to this new position.  We are very excited to have him join our expanding team.  Scott will be a key member of my team, helping us introduce our new and innovative products to the marketplace."

"I'm very excited about joining Autel,” said Gompper. “I've been in the industry a long time and when I was offered the chance to join Autel I jumped at it.  Autel is a customer-focused company offering a broad range of automotive diagnostic products that suit both the professional technician and end users.  Autel builds quality, affordable tools that the customer needs by listening to the market, studying what is available, and continuously refining their product offerings to meet those market needs.  The company is constantly innovating and releasing new products.  With so many new and exciting products coming in the pipeline this year, I couldn’t be more pleased with this opportunity to lead the retail sales team."

Gompper is an industry veteran with over 30 years of automotive aftermarket experience. In his previous role Mr. Gompper was in charge of several programs that introduced new diagnostic tools to the automotive aftermarket.  His retail programs were instrumental in building this business in both commercial and retail.  This led to sales growth of well over 400 percent in the US, Canada and Mexico.

Prior to this, Gompper spent over 20 years at various companies in the automotive remanufacture business selling front wheel drive axles, new and used components and the rotating electrical business.  Mr. Gompper holds an M.B.A. from the University of Illinois at Carbondale.
