Gerber Collision & Glass awarded collision students each with a $2,000 scholarship and $1,000 in tools through a spring tool grant opportunity with the Collision Repair Education Foundation. To be eligible for the tool grant and scholarship, collision students needed to visit a local Gerber Collision & Glass facility and interview with the local stores manager.
The winning students were able to select $1000 (retail value) in tools and equipment from the NATEF required tool list in addition to receiving a $2,000 scholarship.
The 2013 Gerber Collision & Glass student scholarship and tool grant winners include:
- Lino Meraz – Lincoln College of Technology (Melrose Park, Ill.)
- Asare Boatneg – Lincoln College of Technology (Melrose Park, Ill.)

Investing in students in our markets will help to ensure that we have qualified technicians available as we continue to grow our business," said Tim O'Day, president of Gerber Collision & Glass.
Sterling Autobody has awarded $27,000 in collision student scholarships and tool grants through the Collision Repair Education Foundation.
PPG Industries Foundation awarded four collision students with $5,000 scholarships through the Collision Repair Education Foundation.
The Collision Repair Education Foundation and GEICO Philanthropic Foundation work together to hand out scholarships to students.
