Gerber Collision & Glass awarded collision students each with a $2,000 scholarship and $1,000 in tools through a spring tool grant opportunity with the Collision Repair Education Foundation. To be eligible for the tool grant and scholarship, collision students needed to visit a local Gerber Collision & Glass facility and interview with the local stores manager.
The winning students were able to select $1000 (retail value) in tools and equipment from the NATEF required tool list in addition to receiving a $2,000 scholarship.
The 2013 Gerber Collision & Glass student scholarship and tool grant winners include:
- Lino Meraz – Lincoln College of Technology (Melrose Park, Ill.)
- Asare Boatneg – Lincoln College of Technology (Melrose Park, Ill.)
"Gerber is very pleased to provide Lino and Asare with these awards in partnership with the Collision Repair Education Foundation. Investing in students in our markets will help to ensure that we have qualified technicians available as we continue to grow our business," said Tim O'Day, president of Gerber Collision & Glass.
